Summer Reading is Very Rewarding!

My kids participated in the summer reading program at the public library as well as at the consolidated library. They had fun reading, being read to, and being encouraged and rewarded!

My younger kids received free Applebee's kids meals, ice cream coupons from Russel Stovers, Pizza Hut personal pan pizzas, a free book of their choice, and other small prizes.

My 12yo son (11yo then) was bumped up to the older kids category.

At the public library, he received three free books of his choice (not a good selection; he was offended by some of them). He was able to enter into a drawing for prizes nine times. He won 2 Pizza Hut personal pan pizzas, 2 movie theater tickets, 2 free bowling passes, a free mini golf pass, and an ice cream coupon. Yay!

At the consolidated library, he won the grand prize of $25 gift certificate to Borders!! Way to go!! This was so exciting for him and very encouraging! I printed a 25% off coupon for Borders, so he can stretch his money!

Now it's time to go have some family fun and lots of it! They'll definitely keep on reading!

Another way to instill a love of learning.... and reading!
